On this leisurely walk there were 8 people and 4 dogs, and a good time was had by all. For two of us, it was their first time with the Walkers, and it is nice to see new faces.
We started under the railway arch at the Bird (in Hand) at Saltford. We went along Mead Lane past the sailing club, and then onto the path beside the water works. This section was a little bit muddy, but not horrendously so by Walkers standards. Nevertheless, one of the dogs — a golden retriever / poodle cross — managed to find a stream and got somewhat plastered. Following that section, we went over the new Wessex Water bridge and along the A431 (pavement) as far as The Swan in Swineford. After that, we took the path beside the river as far as the railway path, went up onto that and then back along that to The Bird, where we all had a coffee together.

So glad you had a good turnout and sorry we couldn’t make it. Hope there will be more canine friends walks soon
The next one is on 22nd March at Bathampton Down.
