Combined: Dramway Railway – 5 miles
Saturday 11th January at 9:30 am – 1:00 pm
You might be tempted to think that the Dramway path and the railway path are one and the same, but they are not. However, in the section we will be walking, they run roughly parallel and quite close to one another. The Dramway was used for hauling coal, whereas the railway carried passengers (and other freight). We will be walking from North Common to Shortwood along the Dramway and back along the railway path.
We will stop for a coffee break at Warmley Waiting Room (at about 11.30), so there is no need to bring a snack with you.
Although the railway path is Tarmac, the Dramway is muddy in parts, so you won’t want to be wearing trainers.
Dogs are welcome on this walk.
