Walk Leader: James Dudbridge
Fifteen of us set off from the Compton Inn in the centre of Compton Dando.

We were blessed with lovely weather, a sunny and warm spring day. We initially headed eastwards towards the small hamlet of Tucking Mill, passing the grand Tucking Mill Farmhouse.

From Tucking Mill we headed northwards rising towards Burnett across undulating fields. The footpath crossed the Wansdyke and once the path plateaued we could see views across to the City of Bristol with the Purdown BT Tower and the Dower House close to the M32 clearly visible. We then entered the picturesque village of Burnett.

Shortly after passing The Manor House in Burnett we stopped for a short break at the Church of St Michael.

We then continued through the village passing the old village water pump and heading out of the village passing the War Cottage which was used by soldiers returning Fromm World War II.

Once out of the village of Burnet we headed downwards back towards Compton Dando across open fields then entering a small copse and passing a babbling brook before returning to our starting point.
