Eight of us met at East Harptree Church in the beautiful warm Spring sunshine. The walk began by climbing steadily up out of East Harptree village with great views over Chew valley Lake.

Our coffee stop was at East Harptree woods among the beautiful bluebells.

The walk continued past Smitham Chimney, the last lead smelting chimney on Mendip.

Heading back, we walked through Harptree Combe woodland, amongst wild garlic, moss, bluebells….and a bit of mud. We enjoyed the cool of the shade as the track continued under a Victorian aqueduct alongside Molly Brook.
Leaving the wood, we walked back to the church. A very enjoyable walk.

Thank you Julie for leading a really lovely walk on a beautiful day with a very friendly group – thoroughly enjoyable!
