Walk Leader: Janet Ludwell
At 10am on a sunny Saturday morning, 15 amblers started out on a walk from Corston.
We crossed the A39 and headed past Manor Farm before looping around a field or two and finding ourselves at Newton Park lakes.
We made our way up to the walled garden where we found plenty of seating in time for a coffee break.
The park, designed by Capability Brown, gave us great views and we looked at huge wooden doors of the gatehouse and the tower where King John was held captive.
Leaving the Bath Spa campus, we headed to Newton St Loe, past the farm shop until we came to the bottom of Pennyquick Hill. We crossed into the Bath Mill and along a footpath which came out above the Globe. After 2 more tricky road crossings we headed back into Corston via the brook and playing field. We clocked up 6 miles and saw some new places and made some new friends. A very enjoyable walk.
A very enjoyable walk!
Great walk with beautiful weather and good company
