Walk Leaders: Jane Clifford and Claire Kitchen
16 of us enjoyed a 8.5 mile walk through the countryside of North Somerset. The first part of our walk consisted of a series of climbs up past Cadbury Hill Fort and Goblin Combe, allowing us to enjoy some lovely views. We were able to learn some history of the area from some useful imformation boards. Our lunch stop was at All Saints Churchyard in Wrington which was accompanied by some entertaining organ music. The second part of the walk took us alongside a stream and across the River Yeo back to our starting point. It was lovely to enjoy the first signs of spring, seeing snowdrops and hearing birdsong.
An excellent walk. The EasyJet planes flying low above us reminded me of growing up on RAF bases.
You certainly get a nice lot of members joining the walks. I’m glad numbers are flourishing.
