A very damp start with no new walkers turning up to join us but great support from Saltford Walkers who turned up en masse, so thank you all.
The 13 of us walked a figure of eight around Saltford starting at the Bird in Hand and making our way to the cheese shop by which time it was very damp. We returned via Kelston mill and the river to the railway path arriving on Mead Lane. By this time it was raining. On to Avon Lane and right on the footpath behind Spion Kop to Saltford airfield. By this time it was really raining. By the time we arrived at Avon Farm we were all very wet and miserable so the decision was made to return along the lane and back to Saltford via the churchyard.
Julie kindly took the photographs but Jane and Clare had already left at this point so missing the photo opportunity.
A huge thank to Janet for helping out with the walk.
I see everyone still smiling. The Festival programme advertised the walk from The Shallows which might have confused new walkers.
Peter, Karol was waiting at the Shallows for anyone who decided to start from there but sadly no one turned up
looks like fun – well done!
Izzy and I were thinking of you all as we sat on the stall in the (dry) Community Centre! We had some good conversations and gave out our leaflets so hopefully we may see some new walkers join us in the future.
