Amblers walk 14th May

Seven intrepid ladies set off from Keynsham park under an overcast sky.  We followed a footpath running parallel to the bypass before crossing at the temporary pedestrian lights. Making our way along Stockwood Vale, we went up Engine House Lane, which skirts the furthest reaches of Stockwood Golf Course before, ending up in Queen Charlton.  By now the sky had cleared and it was quite warm so we stopped briefly for refreshment on the village green and ponder who was lucky enough to live there. From Queen Charlton we had a bit of road walking to reach Charlton Field Lane picking up a byway which brought led us to Chewton Keynsham and onwards to the fields at the far edge of the village.  From here we were accompanied for a short while by a heard of young heifers, one being particularly inquisitive when we stopped for a photo opportunity.  Walking across the fields we came back into Keynsham via Albert Mill and Dapps Hill.
Very many thanks to those who accompanied me and proved to be  sparkling company.
